ORCA is a charity that’s entirely dedicated to studying and protecting whales, dolphins and porpoises in the UK, European waters and beyond. They work to identify and protect critical whale and dolphin habitats and help to create safer places for them, ultimately promoting the health of our seas. By placing volunteer teams on board ferries and cruise ships in European waters ORCA conduct monthly scientific surveys, recording the species they see, where they are and what they’re doing.

Poole Harbour Commissioners is a Dorset trust port, based on the South Coast of England. It operates the Port of Poole which provides facilities for ferries, cruise ships, liner services and bulk cargo operations. The port currently hosts a Brittany Ferries daily service to Cherbourg and is the exclusive UK port for Condor Ferries’ high speed services to the Jersey and Guernsey. The attractive port, spread over 70 acres, operates two linkspans and a newly refurbished ferry terminal. Poole is well connected to the national road and rail networks.
Portsmouth International Port is the perfect gateway to France, Spain and the Channel Islands. The passenger terminal, opened in 2011, offers modern high standards and style in its glass and steel structure. Regular ferry services sail to Caen, Cherbourg and Le Havre in Normandy and St Malo in Brittany, with Santander and Bilbao in Spain. Regular services also sail to Jersey and Guernsey.The Port aims to be the start of a passenger holiday experience.
The Port of Dover is Europe’s busiest ferry port, a vital international gateway for the movement of people and trade. With millions of passengers, cars, trucks, motorcycles and buses passing through on cross-Channel ferries each year, it’s no wonder we’re known as the ‘Gateway to Europe’. Ferry crossings are on offer 24 hours a day, 364 days a year, with a departure on average every 30 minutes when taken across all operator schedules. Foot passenger services at the Ferry Terminal operate between 06.00hrs and 19.30hrs. There are three ferry operators running ships from Dover; DFDS, Irish Ferries and P&O Ferries.

Members also include suppliers such as shipbuilders and designers, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, naval architects and marine engineers, ship brokers and consultants, classification societies, publishers and specialists in IT, finance, insurance, crewing and training. Interferry’s primary purposes are to represent the industry on regulatory and policy matters speak on behalf of the worldwide ferry industry and to facilitate networking and communications among our members.
