New flexible, money-saving ticket options to adapt to new commuting habits
(19 August 2020) London’s leading River Bus service, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, has introduced flexible ticketing options to allow agile workers to commute safely through the capital as they return to work.
Uber Boat by Thames Clippers’ carnet tickets offer a flexible solution for those heading back to the office on a less frequent basis. Flexible carnets allow you to make 4 or 6 journeys over one week, or 10 or 20 journeys over three months; saving up to 20% on paying as you go using Oyster or contactless payment cards.
Available via the Thames Clippers Tickets or Uber app with standard journeys starting from just £4.50 (East or West Zone), commuters can travel safely in comfort while enjoying the free-flowing air inside the cabin. Or grab a coffee from the onboard bar and take a seat on the outside deck, watching London’s iconic skyline glide by.
Alternatively, the new Park and Glide tickets allow commuters to park their car securely at The O2 and use the River Bus service for the onward journey into central London. Park and Glide tickets include one day parking and a return trip from North Greenwich Pier, a five-minute walk away. Tickets start from just £18.
The operator has implemented a range of enhanced hygiene and social distancing measures to allow for a safer transport option through London. With the new measures in place, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers carry just 0.85 passengers per square metre, compared to 1.3 passengers per square metre on the London Underground.
Uber Boat by Thames Clippers is London’s River Bus, serving the capital for over 20 years, and now linking 23 piers across the capital. The operator is currently running a bespoke timetable, with departures every 30 minutes between key London piers.
