Singalong at Sea: P&O Ferries’ alternative Valentine’s Weekend mini cruise to Bruges

(24 January 2020) Looking for some last-minute Valentine’s Day inspiration, but want to take it up a notch from a candlelit dinner for two?

This Valentine’s weekend, P&O Ferries is putting on an extra special mini cruise to the charming city of Bruges. With convenient overnight sailings between Hull and Zeebrugge (from which it is a short 30-minute transfer to Bruges), the outward sailing departs on the evening of Friday 14th February, arriving early on Saturday 15th February and departing Bruges that evening, allowing a full day to explore the picturesque city.

But, it’s not just about the destination. Perfect for those looking to do something a little offbeat, the mini cruise promises plenty of entertainment from the moment passengers step on board, starting with singalong versions of two box office hits. On the outward sailing, travellers can get into the spirit with a showing of Hugh Jackman’s visual masterpiece, The Greatest Showman, with Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody to look forward to on the return journey.

Completing the line-up, passengers can expect an unforgettable performance from renowned Freddie Mercury tribute act, Tony Grant – one of few to have been advocated by Queen’s remaining band member’s themselves – as well as a captivating show of magic and illusion by renowned artists Zooka and Suzie Q.

Passengers will find á la carte and budget-friendly dining options in The Brasserie and The Kitchen respectively, and with a new World Duty Free store and a casino, there certainly won’t be a shortage of things to do on board.

After a peaceful night’s sleep in one of the ship’s cosy en-suite cabins and a quick coach transfer to Bruges, travellers unfamiliar with the city will quickly get to see why Bruges deserves its romantic reputation. Brimming with character and old world charm, there’s plenty to do and see, from wandering its quaint cobbled streets, to dipping into the Groeninge Museum to see medieval Flemish masterpieces – and of course, not forgetting to indulge in the relaxed café culture as you go.

P&O Ferries Singalonga at Sea Valentine’s Day Mini Cruise is open to foot passengers only and costs from £89 per person, including the return sailing, en-suite cabin and return coach transfers to Bruges. For further information and to book, please see here.
