(27 January 2020) Students can now take advantage of Hovertravel’s online offers by booking online and get their discount applied automatically.
Loretta Lale, Head of Commercial at Hovertravel, explains: “Previously our student customers would visit one of our terminals with their NUS card to buy their tickets with many of them travelling on the same day. We wanted to extend the student discount to customers planning ahead as well as those who cannot visit us prior to travelling. Booking online is simple, quick and provides an email confirmation.”
Hovertravel staff may ask to see students’ National Union of Students (NUS) card at the boarding gate. The excitement of flying across the Solent attracts students from the local colleges, and universities in Portsmouth and Southampton, as well as appealing to international students traveling for their studies or on gap years. Students visiting the Isle of Wight can also get discounts on Southern Vectis, Island Line trains and even on their entrance ticket to Queen Victoria’s holiday home on the island; Osborne House.
