Wightlink Ferries have teamed up with a leading Island sandwich company to give customers a real taste of the Isle of Wight.
Sandwiches, wraps and baguettes from Full Spread in Lake are now available on five of Wightlink’s ferries as well as at Fishbourne terminal. It’s estimated around 100,000 a year will be sold on board St Cecilia, St Faith, Wight Sun, Wight Sky and Wight Light. Wightlink’s flagship St Clare will continue to sell sweet and savoury treats from Costa and Greggs.
Wightlink’s Head of Business Operations Sean Millward says he is delighted with his new supplier. “Our staff told me they were very impressed with Full Spread’s products, so we carried out extensive taste tests with our customers the overwhelming preference was for the Full Spread range. I am also very pleased that we are supporting an Island company and that our range will include a gluten free option.”
Full Spread owners Sue and Tony Williams are celebrating 18 years in business. They employ ten people and estimate they’ve made more than three million sandwiches and other tasty treats over the years. Sue and Tony have worked with Wightlink and their design team to create bespoke packaging for the company.
“We’ll always have supplies of the favourite flavours such as tuna, egg, ham and cheese but we’ll also ring the changes with specials including lemon chicken, sweet chili chicken, and brie,” says Tony Williams.
