(28 November 2019) Steve McQueen is back with a major new artwork at Tate Britain, Year 3, featuring over 3,000 photographs showing more than 76,000 of London’s year 3 pupils. Families can experience this free exhibition until 3 May 2020 with Thames Clippers offering free travel for the kids.
Catching a Thames Clippers boat to and from the exhibition is the perfect family day out – providing children with entertainment from the moment you leave the pier with stunning views of the capital while you travel.
To celebrate McQueen’s ambitious portrait of the future, until 3 May 2020, children aged between 5 and 15 can travel for free to and from Millbank Pier (only); just across the street from Tate Britain. Tickets should be bought online in advance, with one free child place given per full-paying accompanying adult. Access to Year 3 is also free, making it a great budget-friendly day out. Children under five travel for free as standard with Thames Clippers.
Millbank Pier is served by two Thames Clippers services, RB2 and RB6, making it easy for families far and wide to visit and appreciate the exhibition as well as everything else Tate Britain has to offer – which includes free collection displays of work by hundreds of Britain’s greatest artists.
Thames Clippers is London’s leading River Bus service, connecting some of the capital’s top attractions and providing passengers with the opportunity to take in the iconic London skyline from the river along the way.
