(12 November 2019) Hovertravel joined in the Purple Tuesday campaign today, adding its weight as a recognised regional champion to this international call to action which is focused on changing the customer experience for disabled people.
Andy Parnell, Hovercare Ambassador, said: “We have committed to a number of initiatives to improve the overall experience for our disabled customers; many of which are based on feedback from our customers. Purple Tuesday is a great opportunity to recognise this work and demonstrate our commitment to supporting disabled passengers.
“By reaching out to the disabled community we have been able to grow our market but, more importantly, we have been able to deliver enhancements to our service. The feedback from our disabled customers has been invaluable and it is encouraging that we have been able to act positively on the comments we receive.”
Hovertravel’s Hovercare is a free service for any passengers requiring assistance with their travel whether they have reduced mobility requirements or just need a little extra help with their journey. Hovercare cards are offered to customers to help Hovertravel identify needs of travellers and to identify customers who are entitled to the range of special fares which are detailed on their website: https://www.hovertravel.co.uk/hovercare-travel-scheme/
