(4 October 2019) Hovertravel staff showed their support for Mountbatten today on Go Yellow Day. Across the company from cashiers to crew and from engineers to pilots, Hovertravel’s teams helped to raise awareness and encourage donations from customers.
Loretta Lale, Head of Commercial at Hovertravel explains: “Hovertravel is a proud and long-term supporter of Mountbatten and we wanted to demonstrate that strong support by wearing yellow today on Go Yellow Day.
Over the years we have participated in Mountbatten’s Walk the Wight as individuals and as part of our corporate team; the Hoverwalkers. We have also donated administrative resources to help with huge organisational task which such events require.
We need the Mountbatten Nurses to help ensure no-one experiences death and dying without professional carers by their side.”
Go Yellow Day is Mountbatten’s annual fund-raising day, held this year on Friday 4th October when people are urged to wear, eat or do something yellow to raise funds to support Mountbatten’s work. Across the Isle of Wight, schools, businesses and individuals will be working together to turn the island yellow.
Mountbatten provides expert care and support to anyone on the Isle of Wight who is facing death, dying and bereavement. All of their services are provided free of charge to patients and their families. This is only possible thanks to the incredible generosity of the community for their continuing support, through fundraising and volunteering.
