(2 October 2019) Hovertravel was a fully engaged participant in Costa Coffee’s free coffee day yesterday, celebrating International Coffee Day by promoting the free coffee from its Costa Express machines in both its Ryde and Southsea terminals.
Loretta Lale, Head of Commercial at Hovertravel, added: “Our duty manager, Brett was by the machine at the start of our operation yesterday, greeting customers and explaining that there was free coffee all day. He held that position the end of the evening, making sure all our customers were fully aware of this great offer.”
As part of the promotion, Hovertravel customers were able to choose from anything on the Costa Express machine’s menu, including Americano, Latte, Espresso and Cappuccino, or even a hot chocolate. They could also add flavoured syrups and extra shots to their drinks, completely free of charge.
Costa Coffee Managing director Scott Martin said: “For years, self-serve machines have carried a certain stigma. Freeze-dried coffee, long life milk, clumpy soups and bland hot chocolate were readily stocked in machines across the late nineties and early noughties, so we can imagine how one poor experience is enough to put someone off for life.
“We don’t believe this is acceptable and have worked tirelessly to revolutionise the self-serve experience. Our machines serve the same coffee beans and fresh milk you would expect in our Costa Coffee stores, so the quality of your experience is never compromised.
“We’re so confident that once you’ve tried a cup from Costa Express that it’ll fast become a regular part of your routine, so for one day only, we’re giving away a free drink to all.”
