Get set for Tour de France: sail and dine at Mont St Michel for £131 with Brittany Ferries

This year, Brittany Ferries are celebrating the Tour de France with a fantastic special offer.

• Overnight mini-cruise from Portsmouth to St Malo on Monday, Wednesday or Friday (from 28 March, only Monday departures available)
• £131 inclusive per person, comes with four course buffet dinner en route to St Malo, overnight two-berth cabin both ways and lunch at La Croix Blanche, Mont St Michel
• Tour de France Grand Départ leaves the historic Mont St Michel on 2 July 2016: Brittany Ferries is sponsor

It’s less than four months until the start of the Tour de France and Normandy’s historic Mont St Michel will be the backdrop for this year’s Grand Départ. The peloton will be leaving the world heritage site for the first stage of the cycling marathon on 2 July, arriving on Utah Beach, 188 km later. Brittany Ferries is sponsoring this year’s Grand Départ. And to celebrate, in the run up to the event, the company is offering a gourmet mini-cruise including lunch at a restaurant in the Grande Rue of the Mont St Michel itself.

The offer includes overnight cruise-ferry crossings to St Malo, departing Portsmouth, ensuite two berth cabins both ways and buffet dinner on the outbound sailing. The following day it’s lunch at La Croix Blanche, just 30 minutes’drive from the port. The three course meal is prepared using locally sourced produce, with dishes presented to the backdrop of stunning sea views.

“What could be more lovely than lunch at one of the most famous and beautiful world heritage sites,” commented Christiane Barker, Brittany Ferries general manager holidays. “This historic island monument has recently been upgraded, benefiting from new road links making it even easier to enjoy a pre-Tour de France gourmet break.”
In addition to gourmet cruises, Brittany Ferries offers regular sailings to Cherbourg from Poole and Portsmouth, and departures to St Malo and Caen. While already busy for the Tour de France, spaces are still available on certain crossings, especially on sailings during the day. In addition, on 3 July, fastcraft Normandie Express and cruise-ferry Bretagne have been scheduled to provide a full day trip to experience the Tour de France. Those travelling on Normandie Express to Cherbourg will have at least nine hours ashore; those travelling on Bretagne, a little longer.
