Pocket-sized but with a wealth of attractions
Just over 2 hours away from London by ferry or hovercraft, the Isle of Wight is a pocket-sized destination with a wealth of attractions and things to do all year round: from dinosaur fossil hunting, to family attractions, historic castles and royal residences, not to mention the 70 miles of coastline. The island also features an exciting events programme which includes The Isle of Wight Festival, Cowes Week, a Walking Festival, Literary Festival and Garlic Festival. Designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2019, the island represents a unique natural habilat and is one of the few places outside Scotland that you can still find red squirrels. Pull on your hiking boots or jump on your bike to explore.
