Black Friday on the high seas as Wightlink launches limited money off deals to the Isle of Wight

(19 November 2019) From Friday 29 November until Tuesday 2 December 2019, Wightlink will be holding a Black Friday Sale* with huge savings on hundreds of ferry crossings to the Isle of Wight.  Passengers with cars can claim 30% off their ferry travel, and foot passengers can claim 50% off.  Travel can be taken until 31 December 2019.

Only available online from midnight on 29 November, the flash sale offer will apply to all crossings to the Island from Wightlink’s three ports in Hampshire: Portsmouth Harbour, Portsmouth Gunwharf or Lymington in the New Forest. Customers can take advantage of this offer to plan a quick getaway to the Island in the lead up to Christmas. For those on foot, Wightlink’s FastCat service takes just 22 minutes and passengers can travel by car to the Island in just 40 minutes.

With plenty of events and activities happening on the Isle of Wight this winter, Wightlink’s Black Friday flash deal is the perfect opportunity to save money on a pre-Christmas getaway. Some of Wightlink’s recommended family activities this December include:

Santa Specials at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway

For families, the Santa Specials at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway offers a 10-mile round trip through the Island’s winter landscape and the chance to meet Santa along the way. Available on specific dates between 30 November and 24 December 2019, the Santa Specials include a visit to Santa’s Grotto, a gift from Santa for every child, the chance to explore the sparkling Winter Wonderland, a trip on the cosily heated steam train and lots more entertainment. Prices start from £16 for adults and £12 for children. 

Polar at Robin Hill

A brand-new magical evening event is set to take over Robin Hill Country Park this winter. From 29 November until 21 December, Polar takes visitors on an enchanting Christmas journey including a stunning Amphitheatre show finale. Open between 5pm and 9pm, there’s plenty for families to explore at Polar including live music and Christmas treats in the Woodland Ponds and Village, handmade decoration workshops and rides on Robin Hill’s Big Red Tractor train. Tickets start from £24.00 per person.    

Victorian Christmas at Osborne House

From 30 November until 1 December, Osborne House will be transformed into a Victorian Christmas wonderland, with Christmas stalls and traditional games, opportunities to meet Father Christmas and carousel rides available. Adult tickets start from £17.10 and child tickets start from £10.30. Ticket prices include entry to the event as well as entry to Osborne House and grounds itself.
