Travelling within the UK doesn’t mean abandoning your taste for adventure and new experiences. Scilly is completely unique, with an island culture you’d usually have to travel miles for. While on the one hand you can enjoy secluded beaches, quiet country lanes and impressive uninterrupted seascapes, Scilly also has an active and welcoming community, offering an intimate, inclusive and authentic experience for travellers. As you find your feet on the islands, you’ll cross paths with friendly faces – soon to become familiar – and slip easily into the rhythm of island life. The Scillonian III connects visitors and locals to Scilly from Penzance Harbour during the summer season. If you’re not from Cornwall, the journey is an excellent opportunity to acclimatise to coastal living, with landmarks including the famous fishing villages of Mousehole and Newlyn, the iconic Minack Theatre and Wolf Rock Lighthouse along the way. As you arrive into Scilly, you’ll start to get a better feel for the islands – you could even plan your must-visit beach list before you set foot on land.

The Isles of Scilly are made up of five main islands. With a population of 1,800, St. Mary’s, the main island, is as close as the Isles of Scilly get to being busy! On Tresco, art lovers, beach combers, garden enthusiasts and sailing fanatics all rub shoulders and enjoy fine food, wonderful views and the relaxed Scilly atmosphere. On every edge of St. Martins, you’ll find one of Europe’s best beaches – each with its own unique character. Bryher provides secluded, sandy beaches, dramatic Atlantic waves, stunning views and of course the warm Scillonian welcome. The furthest South West of all Scilly’s inhabited islands, St. Agnes has a mild climate and early spring that means the island is blessed with flower farms, while exotic bird species, caught on the ocean winds, find St. Agnes first.

Dolphin sightings are extremely common when you sail to the Isles of Scilly, so it’s worth joining fellow passengers on the deck to look out for them. Our crew are a friendly bunch, so if they spot the dolphins before you do, they’ll be sure to let you know.
